SLU Rankings and Honors
Saint Louis University is ranked among the top Jesuit universities in the country and is considered one of the nation's best values in higher education. The University has been lauded as a character-building college, noted for its service efforts. Below are some highlights of Saint Louis University's most recent rankings and awards.
Once again receiving national recognition for its commitment to service, SLU was awarded the Carnegie Foundation's Community Engagement Classification. The honor recognizes institutions' commitment to engaging with local, national and global communities. Nationwide, only 361 institutions hold the prestigious classification, and only 83 received the designation in 2015.
U.S. News & World Report Rankings
The following graduate programs are ranked in the top 50 in the nation for 2016: health law (No. 1), health care management (No. 7), international business (No. 15), supply chain management (No. 17), public health (No. 23), physician assistant (No. 27), part-time law (No. 31), physical therapy (No. 34) andoccupational therapy (No. 36).
Among the magazine's undergraduate rankings for 2015, SLU was listed 99 out of 267 doctoral universities with individual rankings for top national business programs (No. 79), entrepreneurship (No. 13) and international business (No. 18). Additionally, SLU was ranked No. 20 as a "Best Colleges for Veterans" and made the "High School Counselor's Picks" list.
SLU was named one of the top schools in the country for undergraduate education in the Princeton Review's The Best 379 Colleges: 2015 Edition. The Princeton Review surveyed SLU students, who praised the University's academic programs, values-based curriculum and close-knit and active campus where they feel they belong.
SLU was also recognized by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneurship Magazine as one of the "Top 25 Undergraduate Schools for Entrepreneurship Programs for 2015." Each year, the education services company recognizes 50 programs in all — 25 undergraduate and 25 graduate — for their excellence in entrepreneurship education.

Listings are based on the quality of academic offerings and student responses about topics ranging from perception of the institution's mission to the demographics of the student body.
Forbes "America's Top Colleges"
SLU is listed in Forbes magazine's 2014 ranking of "America's Top Colleges." The magazine's list of more than 650 undergraduate institutions is based on the quality of the education and student experiences and achievements.
2013 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll
The award is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-learning and civic engagement.
Barron's Best Buys in College Education
SLU was named one of approximately 220 U.S. colleges and universities that provide "a first-class education at affordable prices." In the publication, Barron's 11th edition calls SLU an "urban research university that refuses to act like one, caring for each individual as a total person and drawing its undergraduates into the life of the surrounding community."
Kiplinger's Best Values in Private Colleges
SLU ranked No. 60 on Kiplinger's list of the 100 top values in American private universities. Rankings considered cost and financial aid, student indebtedness, competitiveness, graduation rates and academic support.
The Templeton Guide: Colleges that Encourage Character Development
The John Templeton Foundation named SLU one of 325 colleges and universities nationwide that promotes character growth and development among the student body.
Washington Monthly "2014 College Rankings"
SLU ranked No. 4 on Washington Monthly's list of universities that participate in the most community service. Overall, the University was listed 138th out of 277 colleges making a "contribution to the public good."
National Survey of Student Engagement
According to a 2014 survey of first-year students and seniors attending 716 four-year colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, SLU students reported feeling more engaged than their counterparts at other major research institutions around the country, especially in the areas of community service and collaboration with other students.
G.I. Jobs "Military Friendly Schools"
The list honors the top 20 percent of colleges in 2013, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students. Criteria for making the Military Friendly Schools list included efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, results in recruiting military and veteran students and academic accreditations.
Soliant Health Top 10 Physical Therapy Schools
Considering job placement rates, student reviews and admissions, among other factors, Soliant Health, one of the largest health care staffing companies in the country, named SLU's physical therapy program fifth in the nation in 2012. Among the strongest factors: high faculty-to-student ratio and a robust freshman retention rate.
College of Distinction
Saint Louis University was named a College of Distinction in 2013-2014 for its commitment to engaged students, great teaching, a vibrant community and successful student outcomes. SLU has also been recognized as a College of Catholic Distinction and a College of Missouri distinction by Colleges of Distinction.
The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching
SLU is one of only seven Catholic universities classified as RU/H: Research Universities (high research activity).
STARS Silver Rating for Sustainability
In March 2015, Saint Louis University earned national recognition for its efforts to create a green campus and university system, receiving a silver rating from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS). STARS gave SLU high marks for its sustainability policies in human resources, diversity and affordability, dining services, water management, public engagement and innovation.
St. Louis Magazine "Best Doctors"
Spanning more than three dozen specialties, more than 160 doctors from SLUCare were selected for St. Louis Magazine's 2014 "Best Doctor's" list. The list is based on the annual "Best Doctors in America" database, which considers more than one million peer evaluations to create a directory of approximately 30,000 doctors.
